The Independent National Electoral Commission in Osun State has commended youths in the state for participating effectively in the online registration, just as the body warned against double registration, which it said is an offence punishable under the law.
“For now, the exercise will be strictly restricted to the INEC local government area offices and the state office at Osogbo, only. The physical registration shall commence by 9:00am and end by 3:00pm from Monday to Friday excluding public holidays and any person on the queue as at 3:00pm during this period shall be accepted for registration.
“Let me seize this opportunity to appreciate the good people of Osun State particularly the youths for their tremendous efforts in participating effectively in the online registration since it began on 28th June, 2021 through the INEC portal link: cvr.inec.gov.ng and cvr.inecnigeria.org. “It is however pertinent to sound a note of warning on double or multiple registrations as well as underage registration as the Commission would be conducting quarterly display as well as using the Automated Biometrics Identification System to identify and remove irregular registrants.”
Agbaje further explained that the Continuous Voter Registration would be in place until the middle of May 2022 to enable the Commission to print the Voters Cards and bring them back for distribution before the governorship election slated for July 16, 2022.
