The Nigeria Customs Service and National Inland Waterways organised a training workshop for members of the Association of Maritime Journalists of Nigeria to sensitise the public on the statutory obligations vested in the service.

The Nigeria Customs Service in conjunction with National Inland Waterways recently organised a two-day training workshop for members of the Association of Maritime Journalists of Nigeria at the Administrative staff college of Nigeria in Badagry, Lagos.

Comptroller-General of Customs, Col. Hammed Ali in his keynote address said it was imperative to embark on educative and enlightenment programmes with the media to sensitise the public in understanding the statutory obligations vested in the service. To achieve this, he said the need to enrich, update and sharpen their skills for the greater achievement of its collective objective was paramount.

President of AMJON, Paul Ogbuokiri, who emphasised the importance of the training programme, urged participants to avail themselves of the opportunity, which will translate into improved performance in their reportage.
