This was disclosed on Friday by the Comproller l of the Western Marine Command, Ibafo, Olugboyega Peter’s, who spoke with journalists in Badagry.
Peters noted that the cannabis was recovered on April 21, 2020 at Agaja Beach in Lagos State. The drugs were worth over a billion naira.
He said, “The drugs were recovered on April 21, 2020 at Agaja Beach on the high sea. It has a DPV value of over a billion naira weighing 10,000 kg. The exit point was the high seas.“This is unprecedented because this is the best grade of Indian hemp. Experts say it is AAA grade. This is the first time we would have this kind of cannabis,” he added.
The briefing coincided with the United Nations International Day against drug abuse and illicit trafficking celebrated annually on June 26.He said, “The negative effect of hard drugs on our people cannot be emphasised. It impairs cognitive and psychomotor performance. It also affects the lungs.All rights reserved.
