Defending Ulster champions Cushendall take on Derry kingpins Slaughtneil in the Ulster Club SHC semi-final
The Box-It Athletic Grounds in Armagh hosts this evening's Ulster Club SHC semi-final betwen Cushendall and Slaughtneil
With typically hard-fought wins over St John’s and Dunloy under their belt, they are ready to defend the Four Season Cup. In hurling, they’ve won 12 consecutive Derry titles and, under new manager Paul McCormack, they are determined to regain their provincial crown. “He’s really important player for Cushendall but they’ve other important players as well so your head would be spinning to put out all those fires.
“We need to change that. There is work ongoing in that regard, it’s really only started under Jarlath Burns’s tutelage and there’s a long way to travel. Like, Connacht and Ulster – half the country doesn’t have hurling flourishing and we have this sport that is simply magic and we should be sharing it with every child.
