National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control has granted the emergency use authorization for the deployment of Sputnik and Moderna COVID19 vaccines in the country.Ahead of the arrival of more shipment of COVID19 vaccines to Nigeria, the Director General of NAFDAC, Prof Mojisola Adeyeye, said the agency had conducted a thorough assessment of the vaccines and found them to be very safe for use in the country.
She said that studies showed that the usefulness of the vaccines far outweighed its minor side effects. Addressing a press conference on Thursday morning, Adeyeye said NAFDAC had put measures in place for continuous monitoring of the use of the vaccines and to intervene when necessary to safeguard the lives of Nigerians.
