COVID-19: Yobe courts commence virtual remote proceedings
With this development, Yobe State Judiciary has now joined other states in the federation who are leveraging on cutting edge technology for the administration of justice.
“Having assumed office as the Ag. Chief Judge, I deemed it expedient to fulfil the dreams of his lordship by moving the judiciary forward. I must confess these are but his initiative and his desire to see that the judiciary attains the level of modern trends in ICT development”, he explained.Justice Kaigama also noted that the commencement of the virtual court proceedings became reality with the help of the Legal Defence and Assistance Project, supported by MacArthur Foundation.
“They supplied electronic gadgets in these Courts to the tune of about one million five hundred thousand naira . He said the appointment and subsequent swearing-in of the judicial officers will boost the administration of justice by bringing it closer to the doorsteps of the citizens.
