“In terms of the situation in Africa, we are continuing to see an increase in cases,” she said. “What is very encouraging is that we have a number of countries who have reported zero cases over a couple of weeks.” Dr. Matshidiso admitted that it has not been easy for African governments to take decisions in the face of the COVID-19 as there is always a need “to balance” between the health of the people and the economy.
