PUTRAJAYA: For the first time in nearly two months, Covid-19 recoveries in Malaysia outnumbered new cases.
The Health Ministry’s daily Covid-19 updates on Monday reported 17,672 new cases and 19,053 recoveries.With that, the country’s active cases have gone down slightly to 260,700 from 262,255 the previous day.The country also reported 174 Covid-19 deaths on Monday, taking the national death toll up to 14,342.
Health director-general Tan Sri Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah said Johor had the most deaths with 53 fatalities, followed by Penang and Sabah . The Klang Valley saw a significant reduction in Covid-19 deaths, with Kuala Lumpur and Selangor reporting seven each.There were also 21 cases classified as"brought in dead".
