The Minister of Aviation, Hadi Sirika, has announced that Nigeria’s aviation authority has caught a United Kingdom registered aviation company running commercial flight services under the pretence of humanitarian operation.
The minister in a tweet on Sunday revealed that the company, Flair Aviation is a UK-registered company approved for humanitarian operations was caught conduction commercial flight.It would be recalled that Nigeria shut its international and local airports on the 23rd of March, due to the COVID19 outbreak, except for emergency and essential flights.
The tweet by the minister reads: “Flair Aviation, a UK company, was given approval for humanitarian operations but regrettably we caught them conducting commercial flights. This is callous! The craft is impounded, crew being interrogated. There shall be a maximum penalty. Wrong time to try our resolve.”
