A Magistrate Court sitting in Port Harcourt, Monday, ordered that the Manager of the demolished Prodest Homes, Job be remanded at the Isolation Center for 14 days.Job was arraigned before the court on a count charge bordering on the violation of the Executive Orders of Governor Nyesom Wike that banned the operation of hotels in the state.

Senior Magistrate Rita Ogugua in her ruling also asked the Manager of Prodest Homes to pay the sum of fifty thousand naira fine and should wait for the result of the COVID-19 testing before he will be granted bail. DAILY POST reports that the Hotel Manager refused to be docked because of the absence of his lawyer after the Senior Magistrate mandated him to enter the witness box.

When contacted, the legal representative of the Hotel Manager, Golden Leso-Awi on telephone, said there were enough grounds to challenge the court processes. Governor Nyesom Wike had personally led and supervised the demolition of Prodest Homes and Etemeteh Hotels both in Eleme Local Government Area of the state for violating his order, an action that generated widespread condemnation.
