The Oyo State COVID-19 Task Force, on Saturday, announced that the COVID-19 confirmation tests for 31 suspected cases came back positive.
Thirty of the newly confirmed cases were said to be members of staff of an organisation based in Ibadan South West Local Government Area of the state,Governor Seyi Makinde of Oyo State, who doubles as the Chairman of the state COVID-19 task force, wrote on hisHe disclosed that the company would be decontaminated in a bid to prevent further spread of the virus in the state.
“We urge members of the public to remain calm as the situation is under control. Intensified contact tracing has already commenced. We will give an update on any additional measures that may need to be taken.” He urged those with any of the related symptoms of COVID-19, who had yet to take a test to register with the Emergency Operations Centre on any of the dedicated telephone numbers for the ongoing drive-through/walk-through testing at Adamasingba Stadium, Ibadan.
