COVID-19: NAFDAC raises alarm over fake hand sanitizers, warns consumers in Borno

Mr Nasiru Mato, the NAFDAC’s state Coordinator, gave the warning in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria, on Saturday in Maiduguri.

Mato explained that substantial methanol exposure could lead to headaches, permanent blindness, vomiting, seizures and nausea. Mato said that NAFDAC had registered quite a number of hand sanitizers in the light of the COVID-19 pandemic to meet the need of the current reality.
