The President of the Nigerian Bar Association, Mr Paul Usoro , has said the COVID-19 pandemic may help to instill the culture of punctuality in Nigerians and eventually phase out the notorious concept

of ‘African time’.

Usoro spoke at the recent 14th Annual Business Law e-Conference, with the theme, “Business Unusual: Digital Acceleration for Growth in a New World,” organised by the Nigerian Bar Association Section on Business Law. He said, “Because we must communicate virtually or digitally, I wonder whether most of you have noticed that there is a tendency to keep to time. When the conference was programmed to start today at 9.40am, if it were to be the other programmes that we normally have, we will perhaps still be waiting for about another one hour before we start. But now, everybody is conscious that being a virtuous conference, you must start it on time.

“It is a statement to the dynamism of the section and importantly the resilience and the resourcefulness of the leadership under its chairman, Seni Adio, Senior Advocate of Nigeria,” Justice Muhammad said.
