COVID-19: Lagos govt makes clarification on workers that can resume May 4
Lagos State has said government offices and establishments can re-open on Monday, May 4.
This was confirmed in a statement signed by the state’s Head of Service, Hakeem Muri-Okunola, on Friday. Muri-Okunola confirmed Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu, has approved the reopening of the public offices, in a bid to ease the COVID-19 lockdown in the state.Sick workers have, however, been advised not to resume work.
“Officers on Grade Levels 12 and below must continue working from home, unless otherwise directed by their Accounting Officers, with the exception of Frontline Responders and other essential Health Workers, irrespective of Grade, as well as Enforcement Agencies,” Muri-Okunola said. “The Secretariat and other Government Establishments would remain shut to members of the public and non-staff who are advised to conduct their affairs through other channels such as telephone, emails and online platforms.”Government offices have been directed to provide liquid soap with water at the entrance of their offices.
