COVID-19: Edo Discharges 35th Patient, As Govt Extends Case Search In 432 Communities
Edo State Governor, Godwin Obaseki holds a love briefing on COVID-19 by the State Response Team in Benin on April 19, 2020.The Edo State Government has announced the discharge of the 35th coronavirus patient, who has tested negative for the virus and cleared from one of the state’s isolation centres.
Obaseki said, “We have discharged the 35th patient from one of our isolation facilities in the state. We appreciate the medical workers and other frontline staff battling to contain the COVID-19 pandemic. We will continue to review our measures until we win the battle against the virus.” The commissioner noted that from the onset of the outbreak, Edo State has recorded a total of 792 suspected cases of COVID-19 and 95 confirmed cases spread across eleven LGAs, including Oredo , Esan West , Egor , Ovia-North East , Ikpoba-Okha , Uhunmwode , Etsako Central , Esan South East , Akoko-Edo , Esan Central , and Orhionwon .“The Edo State Government has continued to step up measures to contain the coronavirus pandemic in state, as we are committed to protecting our people.
