COVID-19 deaths: Sudan overtakes Nigeria as toll hits 5,400 in Africa
According to the latest number released by the World Health Organization, WHO, regional office for Africa in Brazzaville, Congo, there are 5,486 deaths recorded on the continent.As of Wednesday morning, Sudan is now ahead of Nigeria with 372 reported deaths, while Africa’s most populous nation has recorded 365 reported deaths, fifth-highest on the continent.
Egypt has 1,271 reported deaths, the highest on the continent, followed by South Africa with 1,162 deaths, and Algeria with 724 deaths.
