COVID-19: Community transmission on the rise as Ondo records eight new cases

Shortly after 30 cases of COVID-19 were reported in Ondo State within the space of one week, the State has recorded eight fresh cases.

In the last one week, the State has continued to record cases on a daily basis, with apprehension among residents and stakeholders of community transmission in full swing in the State. Meanwhile, Governor Oluwarotimi Akeredolu had on Monday expressed concern over the rising cases of the virus in the State, describing it as frightening and embarrassing with calls for urgent step to be taken.

“It is very important to note that the spread is now in all the four corners of our state. It has found habitat in all the three senatorial districts.“From the Northern district through the central to the southern district, the raw facts stare us in the face that as individuals and communities, our efforts are not enough to protect us and our loved ones.
