COVID-19: APGA sets up committee to monitor palliative distribution in Anambra

The charity materials which are expected to complement efforts of the state government in the fight against COVID-19 are to be distributed to the 326 political wards of Anambra State.

In a press release signed by the National Publicity Secretary of the party, Barr. Tex Okechukwu and forwarded to DAILY POST on Saturday, the party stressed the need for all patriotic Nigerians to unite irrespective of religious and political party leanings, to fight the dreaded COVID-19 pandemic which according to APGA, posed a serious threat to the lives as well as the existence of mankind.

APGA urged party faithful across the country to remain steadfast and continue to adhere strictly to the precautionary advice of the World Health Organization and other medical experts in order to stay safe over the spread of Coronavirus pandemic. In a related development, the Nigerian Centre for Disease Control , has said that the confirmed cases of Coronavirus in the country is 209 and not 210 as earlier reported.However, a follow-up tweet on Saturday said it reported an error.

“The correct breakdown is as follows: As at 10:30 pm 3rd April, there are 209 confirmed cases; 25 discharged, 4 deaths.“The NCDC remains committed to ensuring transparency and accurate reporting of infectious disease cases in Nigeria,” the tweet read.
