COVID-19: 67 Almajiri children, 2 policemen infected by Coronavirus in Kaduna
It said that 67 of the 72 are Almajiri children who were recently deported from Kano State.The Governor’s Spokesman said the seven other cases currently receiving treatment were persons with travel history outside Kaduna State or their contacts.
Adeyeye further revealed that two policemen were also among the cases undergoing treatment at the State Infectious Disease Control Centre. He said since March 28, 2020, when the index case was reported, the State has discharged 8 patients and has recorded one death. He added that the patient died before his positive test result was received.
He explained further that overall, 81 cases have been recorded in the State, while the active cases are 72. Adekeye condemned documented instances of police and paramilitary personnel that have been involved in illegal inter-state travel, describing their action as unfortunate.
