COVID-19: 50 persons arrested at nightclub in Ilorin for violating rules
They were arrested in the early hours of Saturday, according to the Chairman, Medical Advisory Committee on COVID-19, Dr Femi Oladiji in a statement in Ilorin.He said the operation was led by the state chairman of the state COVID-19 technical committee, and deputy governor, Mr Kayode Alabi.
He said, “around 1 am, we got information that some people were at a club inside Kwara hotels. The deputy governor, accompanied by me, and some security operatives raided the club and arrested so many boys and girls within the age of 20 and 30.”Around 2 am, we brought them to the hajj camp quarantine centre. We made them comfortable overnight, and early this morning, we took their samples for COVID-19.“Violations would henceforth attract strong response from the government,” he added.
