In this interview with OLADIMEJI RAMON, a professor of Law and Deputy Vice-Chancellor, Afe Babalola University, Ado-Ekiti, Damilola Olawuyi, forecasts the future of legal practice in the post-COVID-19 era and what lawyers must do to surviveyour perspective as an expert in environmental law, what is your assessment of Nigeria’s management of COVID-19 so far?

While the guidelines released by NESREA during the COVID-19 pandemic have been helpful, they are not comprehensive enough to address other harmful forms of viruses and contaminants. They also do not stipulate regulatory fines and penalties for defaulters. A comprehensive environmental regulation is needed to fully integrate environmental infection control into our legal framework.
