Court orders NBC Director General, Ishaq Kawu, to “unfailingly” appear before it over alleged mismanagement of ₦2.5 billion meant for the government’s Digital Switch-Over programme. Nigeria

Justice Folashade Ogunbanjo-Giwa yesterday ordered the Director General of the National Broadcasting Commission , Ishaq Modibbo Kawu, to unfailingly appear before the Federal High Court, Abuja on April 17, 2019.

The prosecuting counsel, Henry Emore, did not oppose the oral application but noted that it should be on record that the defendant had taken one adjournment out of the five stipulated by the Administration of Criminal Justice Act 2015 in criminal cases.According to him, “it is only the living that praise God, and only the living can face trial.”

The judge also directed the prosecution counsel to verify the authenticity of the medical report and file a report before the court.
