A Lagos Magistrate’s Court sitting in Eti-Osa, Lagos, has remanded a lady, Olufunmilayo Brioluwa, in Kirikiri Correctional Centre for assaulting a police officer, in Ogombo area of Lagos State, on Sunday.
The lady was alleged to have assaulted and held on to the officer’s uniform during a stop and search. She was arraigned before Magistrate M.O. Alao, and pleaded not guilty to the charges.
MEANWHILE, Nigerians have demanded the arrest and prosecution of officers caught on camera assaulting a commercial motorcyclist, popular known as Okada at Oja Oba, Ogundele Street close, Abule Egba under bridge in Lagos. A citizen, Blessyon, wrote: “Benjamin Hundeyin, we saw on your page, you arrested a lady for assaulting a police officer and charging her to court. We will like to know the date you are charging the police officers in this video to court for assaulting an unarmed citizen because of a bike, so we can witness it.”
