The Senior Magistrate, Aminu Sani, presiding over Magistrate Court II in Gusau , Zamfara State, has issued an arrest warrant for two Nigeria Security and Civil Defense Corps personnel who absconded from court. This follows a request from the plaintiff's lawyer, Barrister Surajo Garba Gusau , who highlighted that the absences of the officers had hindered the progress of the trial.
The two officers were among five individuals facing charges related to the burglary and theft of property belonging to Yusha’u Aliyu, the plaintiff. Barrister Gusau also rejected the defense's attempt to have the case dismissed, arguing that civil servants are not exempt from legal prosecution under Nigerian law, except for certain high-ranking officials such as the President, Vice President, Governors, and their Deputies.
