The Federal High Court in Lagos has sentenced two men – Uche Johnson and Kingsley Meteke – to two years’ imprisonment for adulterating “128 drums and 9.45 litres of engine oil.

The prosecuting counsel for the SON, Joseph Olofindare, told Justice Oluremi Oguntoyinbo that the adulterated engine oil, which Johnson and Meteke offered for sale to members of the Nigerian public, fell short of the SON Conformity Assessment Programme.Following their guilty plea, Justice Oguntoyinbo convicted Johnson and Meteke as charged and sentenced them to two years’ imprisonment.
