A Federal High Court in Kano has declined an application by the All Progressives Congress to stop the Kano State Independent Electoral Commission from conducting local government elections scheduled for October 26.
In his ruling, Justice Simon Amobeda refused the prayers of the applicants and ordered that the respondents, which include KANSIEC, the Kano State House of Assembly, the Attorney General of Kano State, and various security agencies, should be notified to present their reasons for opposing the injunction.
