BREAKING: Court affirms 12-year jail term for ICPC board nominee
The Court of Appeal sitting in Ilorin has upheld the judgement of a High Court which jailed a former Chairman of the Governing Council of Kwara State Polytechnic, Dr Saadu Alanamu, for 12 years.
The statement said that he had earlier been found guilty of collecting N5m bribe from a contractor friend of his, Salman Sulaiman, as a reward for the award of a contract to his company. The court was also informed of how Alanamu ensured that the contract for the construction and furnishing of an auditorium in Kwara State Polytechnic was awarded to the company belonging to his friend at the cost of N182.369m, when the company was not qualified to execute the contract.
