The All Progressives Congress, APC, says it is not involved in the protracted leadership tussle within the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, as alleged by Bauchi State Governor, Bala Mohammed.
The National Publicity Secretary of the APC , Felix Morka denied this allegation in a statement on Friday in Abuja in response to comments attributed to the governor. Morka stressed that the PDP ’s crisis was self-inflicted and endemic, citing its history of leadership imbroglio that predated the APC ’s formation.
The APC spokesman attributed the latest crisis to the PDP’s failure to adhere to its constitution on zoning and power sharing between the North and South zones. He advised Gov. Mohammed and other PDP leaders to introspect and seek solutions within, rather than blame the APC. “The PDP decided to concentrate both positions in one zone, digging itself into a deeper crisis,” Morka said.
