A 31-year old 'datuk seri' has turned himself in to the police to facilitate investigations into a riot at an entertainment outlet along Jalan Klang Lama, Kuala Lumpur, on May 3.

The same 'datuk seri' was involved in a high-profile assault case in front of a temple in the capital several years ago. Kuala Lumpur Criminal Investigation Department chief Alzafny Ahmad said that the individual surrendered himself at the Brickfields police headquarters at 3pm yesterday. "He was accompanied by his lawyer. Police recorded his statement before releasing him under police bail," Alzafny said in a statement.

On May 3, a group of men armed with sticks barged into the Jalan Klang Lama outlet and damaged over RM200,000 worth of property.Preliminary investigations revealed that the incident wasSubsequently, police identified a further four individuals, including the 'datuk seri', involved in the attack.Kuala Lumpur police chief Mazlan Lazim to discuss the matter.
