The River Plantation neighborhood in Conroe is still recovering from severe flooding more than a month ago.

– The River Plantation neighborhood in Conroe is still recovering from severe flooding from more than a month ago.

In May, over 200 homes were flooded, some now sit empty waiting to be repaired while at least one homeowner looks to sell his house through a FEMA buyout program. “I’m not giving this to somebody else, that’s going to have to deal with it down the road so whatever money comes, hopefully we’ll be able to pay off the house and hopefully we’ll be able to get into another home,” said homeowner Rob Schroeder.

Schroeder said his home has been flooded three times over the past couple of years. Most recently, he got several feet of water inside his house. “When it rains were always looking at the lake level, we’re looking at the river levels because we’re very close to San Jacinto,” Schroeder said.“Been with them for 2 ½ years, you have live in the house and have to be covered by FEMA for flood,” said Schroeder.or by calling the FEMA Customer Service Center at 800-621-3362 or visit FEMA’S Disaster Recovery Center at the Acres Home Multi-Service Center, located at 6719 W. Montgomery Houston, 77091.
