The company reduced the carriage-way on the inbound lane from Ibadan for months to replace failing joints.Many believe it would take more than a year to replace the joints at the rate work is going.
Rather than speed up work on the narrowed lane, the contractor moved to the outbound lane to create a gridlock for those driving out of Lagos.The narrowing of inbound and outbound lanes has brought back pains that road users experienced for years while rehabilitation lasted. Keisha, who said the repair would be done simultaneously on both bounds, underscored the importance of such a repair.
The joints are critical to structural integrity of the bridge.
