A 77-year-old community head of Kobi, Muhammadu Bello, has lamented the loss of his 43-year-old daughter and eight-year-old granddaughter to the Bauchi stampede.
Muhammadu, the Maiangwan Kobi, a community head in the heart of Bauchi metropolis, said their demise would remain in his heart.
“They went to collect a palliative from Shafa. They came to me in the morning and informed me that they were going to Shafa to collect Zakat. Meanwhile, the Zakat Distribution Committee has blamed the crowd for the incident, saying most of the people who thronged the venue were not invited. Kwande United Peoples Organisation has put out a Save Our Soul to the state and federal governments to help them repel armed herders that constantly attack their people.Time has come for the issues of the country’s reputation to be taken seriously, the Nigerian Institute of Public Relations has said, while describing reputation as a core asset.
