The Federal Character Commission has constituted six ad-hoc committees to probe the level of compliance of federal ministries, departments and agencies to the federal character principle.
The Commission regretted that failure by MDAs to comply with rules and principles of federal character had negatively impacted President Muhmmadu Buhari’s vision of uniting Nigeria through creating equal opportunities for all segments of the country. It, however, said the newly constituted ad-hoc committees would be tasked with scrutinising all certificates of compliance since January 2019 till date, as well as examines staff nominal rolls to ascertain compliance with federal character principles.According to the statement, “the Commission at its plenary chaired by the Executive Chairman, Dr. Mushed a Dankaka, resolved to audit nominal rolls of some agencies/MDAs to ascertain the level of compliance with the principle of Federal Character.
