Industry body, Global mobile SuppliersAssociation, has reported that about 317 devices now support 5G, of which 135are understood to be commercially available, up from 112 5G supported devices at the end of May. 5G 5GDevices Technology
In January 2020, the number of devices supporting 5G stood over 200.
However, only 20.5 per cent of all announced devices support both, they have spectrum and the sub-6GHz spectrum bands. Meanwhile, only 31commercially available devices are said to support services operating in mmWave spectrum, but 88.9 per cent of the commercially available devices are said to support the sub-6GHz spectrum.
“As we continue to see more and more 5G services launched around the world, it is fixed wireless access and phones which are driving the early pace,” said Joe Barrett, President of Global mobile Suppliers Association.
