Comet C/2023 A3, also known as Tsuchinshan-ATLAS, will pass within 44million miles of Earth tonight, making it the perfect time to see the space rock for yourself.
Tonight is your last opportunity to witness a bright comet visible to the naked eye before it fades into obscurity.
If you're keen to spot the celestial body, tonight, between October 12 and October 13, is the most likely time. The comet, officially known as C/2023 A3 or Tsuchinshan-ATLAS, was previously visible from September 27 to October 2. It then vanished from sight as it came too close to the sun to be observed from either the northern or southern hemisphere. However, those eager to catch a glimpse can do so this weekend.
