Met Eireann has said it is likely to turn colder than recent days again at the weekend as we head into 2023.
The weather is to remain unsettled this week with widespread wind, rain and even some sleet in places on Wednesday and Thursday.
It will be a wet start too on Wednesday morning but the rain is due to clear heading into the afteroon. "Southwest winds will increase fresh to strong and gusty with very strong gusts possible along Atlantic coasts later in the day. Highest temperatures of 9 to 11 degrees."
