The National Association of Ilaje Students (NAIS) and Federation of Ese Odo Local Government Students (FELGOS) have written to the police command in Ondo State about their planned action slated to commence on Wednesday, August 2. The groups are planning to protest against the treatment of Ilaje and Ese-Odo local government areas by the state government, being critical stakeholders of the Ondo State oil-rich areas as student organisations.

A copy of the letter addressed to the state police commissioner stressed that they have decided to raise their voices against the infrastructural mess in the oil mandate areas. "The matter concerning the Ondo State Oil Producing Areas Development Commission and its statutory entitlement to 40% of the 13% oil derivation funds accruing to the Ondo State Government.
"Regrettably, despite these explicit legal provisions, OSOPADEC has been unjustly deprived of its rightful entitlement by the Ondo State Government which has caused the sufferings in the Mandate areas.
