Labor MP Peter Khalil says the fact that the coalition government is going out and complaining that the government isn’t moving fast enough on banning TikTok is “outrageous”.

His comments come as Shadow Home Affairs Minister Karen Andrews said on Sky News Australia on Thursday morning it was “appalling” the social media app TikTok hadn’t been banned yet on the phones of government personnel.

“TikTok is not a new app it has been around since 2016 the issues and concerns have been around since the very beginning when it was launched,” he told Sky News Australia.“We have moved as quickly as possible to access the issues.“That for seven years they did nothing on TikTok or digital platforms”.
