The suspended senator is facing charges brought by the Office of the Attorney General of the Federation and Minister of Justice, spanning six counts related to harmful imputations made during public comments and a television interview.
The crux of the alleged offences centers on Akpoti-Uduaghan's assertions that Senate President, Godswill Akpabio, and former Governor of Kogi State, Yahaya Bello, conspired to assassinate her. Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan is scheduled to appear before the Federal High Court in Abuja in a case initiated by a petition from the President of the Senate, Senator Godswill Akpabio, concerning the false and potentially dangerous claims she made, alleging an assassination plot by Senator Godswill Akpabio and former Kogi State Governor Yahaya Bello.
