The Conference of Nigeria Political Parties, CNPP, has condemned the alleged threat to the life of the National Chairman of Zenith Labour Party, ZLP, Chief Dan Nwanyanwu.
Nwanyanwu , at a recent press conference, alleged a threat to his life by an agent of the former Governor of Rivers State, who is currently the Minister of Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike. Condemning the act, the CNPP , in a press statement made available to our reporter in Taraba State on Wednesday by its Deputy National Publicity Secretary, James Ezema, said the need for the relevant authorities to be proactive about the situation has become necessary.
“The use of extra-judicial means to gag opposition voices is a dangerous trend that must be stopped immediately. Nigeria is a democratic nation, and the freedom of expression and association are fundamental rights enshrined in our constitution. Political differences should be resolved through peaceful means, not through violence and intimidation.
