A clergyman with the Assemblies of God Church and two other persons have been killed, allegedly, by Fulani militia in Mangu Local Council of Plateau State.
It was learnt that the clergyman , who resided at Npat village, in Kombun District, was shot in his compound.
A source close to the family said: “The militia forced themselves into the deceased’s compound at about 10:00 p.m. The clergyman, who had earlier sighted them, came out of his house and hid somewhere. But they found him and shot him. “The militia did not only kill him, they also went away with his cattle. The clergyman was later found in a pool of his blood.”
Also, the militia reportedly threw the people of Jol and Byei villages in Riyom Local Council into mourning, as two youths: Elisha Dalyop and Abednego Davou, were killed, while one Patrick Joshua sustained serious injuries and is said to be receiving treatment at the Christian Hospital in Vom. Confirming the incident, Adams Joshua, the councillor representing Jol Ward in Riyom, said an attack happened around 10:00 p.m. at Jol and Byei, when suspected Fulani herders invaded and opened fire, killing two people and wounding one.Efforts to reach the spokesman of the Plateau Police Command, DSP Alfred Alabo, were unsuccessful.
