The Chief Justice of Nigeria, Justice Tanko Muhammad, has charged courts in the country to ensure the speedy and efficient delivery of justice.

“Distinguished participants, it is in this light that you must be effective in your supervision and inspection of the Area/Sharia/Customary Courts as it will go a long way in building public confidence in our courts, fight corruption, laziness and other inadequacies in the judiciary,” Justice Muhammad stated.Justice Muhammad called on the Directors and Inspectors to pay regular visits to the courts, observe the personnel and facilities and ensure the promotion of substantial justice.

“Your administrative and supervisory roles must and should be used to promote the purposes of ensuring substantial justice devoid of unnecessary technicalities,” he added.
