New DC Universe fan art proves that Chris Pine would be perfect for the role of Hal Jordan's Green Lantern in DC Studios' upcoming Lanterns series. James Gunn confirmed Lanterns' development in January 2023, and he and Peter Safran have teased a grounded, True Detective-style storyline for the Earth-based series focused on DC's cosmic heroes, Hal Jordan and John Stewart.

Hal Jordan wouldn't be Chris Pine's first foray into the world of DC, as he previously portrayed pilot and love interest Steve Trevor in 2017's Wonder Woman and its disappointing 2020 sequel. Trevor was a relatively minor role for Pine, who has received huge acclaim for his performances in the rebooted Star Trek franchise, Jack Ryan: Shadow Recruit and Dungeons & Dragons: Honor Among Thieves.
