The Commission on Human Rights on Tuesday strongly rejected the government’s call to revive the Reserve Officers’ Training Corps program and make it compulsory for high school students.CHR spokesperson Jacqueline Ann de Guia cautioned the government to give due attention to the CHR’s concerns arising from proposals to make ROTC mandatory.

De Guia explained that CHR has opposed making ROTC mandatory with of reports of violence and deaths in the past.
