KAJANG: A group of Chinese nationals have been arrested for allegedly running an international online gambling racket here.

A team from the Kajang Secret Societies, Gambling and Vice Division had monitored a double-storey bungalow at Bukit Gita Bayu, Seri Kembangan before raiding the location at around 10pm on Monday .

Kajang OCPD Asst Comm Ahmad Dzaffir Mohd Yussof said his personnel entered the house and found a group of men busy conducting online gambling operations using mobile phones and laptops."During the checks, 15 of them did not have any form of identification documents on hand or valid travel documents," he said when contacted Tuesday .

"The initial interrogation of the suspects revealed that they have been operating there for about a month," he said adding that they were investigating the case under Section4 of the Betting Act 1953. Asst Comm Ahmad Dzaffir urged anyone with information on similar activities to go to the nearest police station immediately or contact the police hotline at 03-2052 9999.
