The umbrella body of Chinese businesses under the auspices of Ogun-Guangdong Free Trade Zone in the Igbesa area of Ado-Odo/Ota Local Government Area of Ogun state has debunked allegations of encroachment on hectares of land levelled against it by a retired headmaster, Solomon Gbadebo Ajose.

SaharaReporters had reported how Ajose, from Igbesa in Ado-Odo/Ota Local Government Area of Ogun State, raised a “save my soul” alarm over an alleged threat to his life by the Chinese investors working with the support of the police to forcibly take the land of 13 families in the community.

It added that the zone had been making frantic efforts to ensure the influx of more investors into the state, describing Ajose as a “land grabber”. “The government of the former governor of Ogun State, Otunba Gbenga Daniels in 2007 signed a Certificate of Occupancy covering a land area of 2000.407 hectares. It's worthy to note that the land mentioned is under government acquisition since 1977. By 2008, the Zone was officially commissioned leading to the establishment of several foreign companies.
