China and Nigeria are set to hold a significant economic and trade expo from November 28th to 30th, 2024, aimed at fostering cooperation in various sectors and addressing Nigeria's economic challenges.

The China Africa Economic and Trade Expo ( Nigeria Station) and China Engineering Technology Exhibition will take place from November 28th to 30th, 2024, at the Abuja Trade and Convention Center. The event, themed 'China and Africa join hands to create a better future', is jointly organized by eight directly affiliated institutions in Hunan Province, China, and the Federal Trade Agency of Nigeria .

It will feature activities across various fields including investment and trade, infrastructure, healthcare, and engineering machinery. Previous editions of the expo have seen significant achievements, with the third session held in Changsha in 2023, attracting over 1700 exhibitors, securing 120 projects valued at $10.3 billion. This event is expected to involve more than 100 companies and is part of Nigeria's ongoing efforts to boost its economy, which has been challenged by a high poverty rate of 38.9% in 2023
