Osman was speaking on the BBC after the Gunners thrashed Sporting 5-1 on Tuesday night. The Gunners took a three-goal lead into half time, thanks to goals from Gabriel Martinelli, Kai Havertz and Gabriel Magalhaes. Although Goncalo Inacio pulled one back from Sporting, Bukayo Saka and Leandro Trossard extended the gap for Mikel Arteta's men.

Osman said: 'I was asked at the start of the season whether I thought Arsenal were capable of winning the Champions League. I said yes, I do think so. 'They need to have performances like this.
