Champions League: Mark Clattenburg, Casillas blast Salah after Liverpool’s 2-0 win over Porto

Goals from Naby Keita and Roberto Firmino were what sealed a 2-0 win for Jurgen Klopp’s side.In the first half, the ball appeared to strike Liverpool defender, Trent Alexander-Arnold, on the arm, but following a VAR review, Porto were not awarded a penalty.Clattenburg noted that Salah was lucky to remain on the pitch at Anfield.

He told Daily Mail, “The Liverpool forward comes over the top of the ball and clearly plants his studs onto the shin of his opponent. “UEFA guidelines on this type of challenge are clear – anything with studs above the ankle is a red card.” Also reacting after the game, via a post on Twitter, Casillas suggested that Liverpool got lucky with two major decisions by posting a picture of Salah’s challenge next to an image of Alexander-Arnold handling the ball.
