Osun State Government has allayed the fears of the populace with regards to the mass cervical vaccination campaign. It said the vaccine will cushion the effect and spread of cervical cancer in the State.
This was made known by the Special Adviser to the Osun State Governor on Public Health, Dr Akindele Adekunle at the sensitisation programme on mass vaccination against cervical cancer in Wednesday in Osogbo. The event was set up to sensitize critical stakeholders in the society ahead of the vaccination campaign starting from October 24, 2023.
'As a critical partner in the progress of the state and a part of the society that are closer to the people, especially people of the grassroots, we are here today to allay your fears concerning receiving the vaccine provided by the government and our development partners to cushion the effect and spread of this disease in our State. 'We cannot do this alone. We need your support. The HPV vaccine, when given, helps protect against cervical cancer,' Akindele affirmed.
